Obituary for Bessie Moseley

Bessie Moseley
Bessie Kerr Moseley, age 93, of Yukon died Thursday May 18, 2017 in Mustang. Bessie was born October 21, 1923 to Dewey & Violet Kerr in Alfalfa County, OK. She attended Elkton rural school, Jet High School and Hills Business College in OKC. She worked fingerprinting and preparing ID files on all employees at Wilson Foods packing plant before marring Robert A. Moseley in 1942. She followed him to Enid where he was in the military. Bessie worked at the Enid Army Base until Bob’ discharge in 1946. They then traveled to California and worked for the U.S. naval air station, North Island, San Diego before returning later to work again at Vance AFB. When Vance was contracted to a private company, they transferred to the FAA Aeronautical Center where Bessie supervised the accounting and payment department, later becoming a critical item manager in the supply depot. Upon retiring from the Federal Government, they spent summers in Kansas, on their farm; where they made many new friends. Bessie did a lot of fishing and gardening then they would return to Yukon in the winter to be with family and old friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers Bill and George (Red), and two sisters Shirley White and Mary Jane Geitey. She is survived by her two sons Bobby L. Moseley of Yukon, OK and Donald Moseley and wife Debbie of North Carolina, four grandchildren Traci, Mark, Kersey, and Austin, and a brother J.D. Kerr and wife Darla of Wichita, KS. Graveside services will be held Tuesday May 23 at 1:00PM in the Timberlake Cemetery, south of Jet, OK. A visitation will be held Monday May 22 from 10AM until 8PM with the family greeting friends from 4PM until 6PM. Friends may sign our online guest book at www.smith-turnermortuary.com.
