Obituary for Annamma Baby

Annamma Baby
ANNAMMA BABY
November 15, 1937 - January 2, 2018

Annamma Baby (Ammachy) was born on November 15, 1937 to Geevarghese and Rachel Geevarghese in Thrikannamangal, Kottarakara, Kerala, India. Ammachy was the sixth child out of eight children. She received her primary education and was a part of the Brethren church in Kottarakara. In 1953, Ammachy was united in marriage to Puthamadathil Geevarghese Baby (Appachen), becoming a member of the Church of God followed by Sharon Fellowship Church in Manakala.

A consummate mother and home maker, Ammachy dedicated her life to her family and lived to care for them. She also had the privilege of caring for Appachen’s ill mother till her last breath. In 1988, Ammachy and Appachen moved to America to join their son in Oklahoma and care for the family. Ammachy was devoted to Appachen and took care of him until he entered glory in 1996. They were married for 43 blissful years.

Ammachy loved the Lord with her whole heart and devoted her life to caring for the less fortunate and hurting. She cared for and lovingly tended to her son-in-law, Jacob Alex during the time of his transplant surgery in Oklahoma. She believed in giving to others, and never cared to receive anything in return.

Ammachy was an active member of Sharon Fellowship Church in Oklahoma since its beginning. It was her desire to attend every meeting punctually, and her presence was always known at church with her loud praises. Ammachy underwent many trials and tribulations during her time on earth, but always had unwavering faith in God. With every breath God granted her, she uttered His praise. Her wonderful sense of humor endeared her to everyone she encountered. It is a great testament to her nature that she formed long lasting friendships that will be forever cherished.

Ammachy entered Heaven’s gates on January 2, 2018. She is survived by her siblings, Sosamma Abraham and Thankamma Baby; children, Kunjumole Alex, Varghese Jacob and his wife Annamma Jacob. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lilia Tomy, her husband Tomy Yesudas, their children Timon and Trifen; Philip Alex, his wife Sherly Alex and their son Aaron; Leena Mathew, her husband Joby Mathew and their son Bezaleel; Benjamin Jacob, Benita Thomas and her husband Jerry Thomas.
