Obituary for James Klinger

James  Klinger
James Ernest Klinger age 68 passed away on January 12, 2018. He was born on March 31, 1949 in Ponca City, OK to Ernest and Lillian Klinger. After graduating high school, James enlisted in the Navy in March 1968. He was assigned to VP31 on North Island where he was part of “pac fleet rifle” and “pistol” team for anti-submarine warfare. Jim was stationed on the USS Mars supply ship rank: PO3 (personnel man). His entire service time was spent on USS Mars and finished in 1971.
Jim later married Allie “Susie” his beloved wife in New Orleans in 1973. He loved to go and visit as much as he could and even was given an honorary citizen key to the city of New Orleans. He admired the steamboats, parties and jazz. He became a Horologist working on watches and doing jewelry repair. Jim later purchased a shop and called it Jim’s Watch and Jewelry Repair. After working several years, Jim retired and started working at Auto Zone where he had a passion for old cars and one day wanted to rebuild one. He was able to lay hold of a model A working on it with his sons, he was in the process of the final touches before he passed away. Jim loved to hunt and had a collection of guns. He enjoyed traveling with Susie in their motorhome, and he loved his dogs Widdget and Stubbie. He was a family man who loved having everyone around. He loved his two boys.
Jim is Preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Barbara Jeanne Mowdy. He is survived by his wife Susie, two sons Karl Eugene Klinger and Misti, and James Earl Klinger and Lavonna, two grandchildren Sahara and Selena, one sister Marjorie Ethelyn Peterson, and one brother Dale Ray Klinger.
