Obituary for Ronald Elliott Totten

Ronald Elliott Totten
Ronald Elliott Totten, 71, of Guthrie, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Ronald was born in Charleston, SC on June 10, 1946 to George Elliott Totten and Mary Leona (Green) Totten.

Ronald graduated from Chandler High School where he was very actively involved in all sports. Following high school, he attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College where he continued his talent in athletics, playing football and running with the track and field team. He also served 6 years in the National Guard.

Ronald resided in Guthrie for 30 years on his 80 acre farm, where he raised and cared for his horses, cattle and basset hounds. Following his time on the farm, Ronald moved to Piedmont to be close to his daughter Sandy and grandson Christopher. Ronald was very much the enthusiast with his collection of baseball cards, and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He also rooted for OU and the Oklahoma City Thunder, and very diligent in doing so, even if he had to record the games and watch them weeks after the fact. Ronald enjoyed doing anything that could be done outdoors, which included fishing in his boat. Ronald considered his favorite indoor sports, to be at any casino, wherever he could find the luck, and recording the “Price is Right” on a daily basis for his video library.

Ronald is survived by his daughter Sandy Totten, grandson Christopher Totten, brother Allen Totten and wife Tammie, nephews Ryan and Tyler Totten, and niece Nicole Totten.
