Obituary for Emiliano Alfredo Tapia

Emiliano Alfredo Tapia
Papa gato by Poncho Sanchez Emiliano “Alfredo” Tapia was born April 25, 1952 in Peru and died September 3, 2018 in Yukon, Oklahoma. He came to Oklahoma as a young man in 1969 and lived here for the remainder of his life. He was employed by Evans Furniture in various positions for 20+ years before taking early retirement. After retiring, he pursued his passion for music as a percussionist. He also established himself as an expert house painter in the Oklahoma City area. In 2008 he joined his son Josh in establishing their own painting company, Pro Touch Painting Inc. They worked together for 10 years until June of 2018. They painted homes all over the Oklahoma City metro area. Josh credits the success of the business to his dad’s support and the strong work ethic he instilled in him. Alfredo was well known in his community as someone who could always make you smile. Although he was not a rich man he was always willing to share what he had with others. Of the many accomplishments in his life the most important to Alfredo was being a father to his only son Josh. In addition to Josh, he is survived by 3 granddaughters, Kayla, Alyssa, and Lorien, and 4 great grandchildren. Also a brother Juan, and sisters Gladys and her husband Nestor Montoya, Marleny and Edward Reyes; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Florencia and Emiliano (Emilio) Tapia.
